Frequently Asked Questions

What does coaching with you look like?

It starts with understanding, not a plan. We begin with a First Conversation to explore where you are and what you want to achieve. From there, I’ll suggest either a single focused conversation or a coaching programme, depending on what will get you to your goals. During a programme, sessions are usually weekly and an hour long, though we agree the pacing that works for you. Each session combines reflection with practical steps, so you leave with something to work on before we next meet.

Is this coaching or therapy?

Coaching, not therapy. Coaching focuses on where you are now and where you want to go: your goals, patterns, decisions and ways of working. I’m not a therapist, doctor or financial adviser, and I don’t diagnose, treat or give financial advice. If something comes up that needs one of those, I’ll say so honestly and help you find the right support, alongside coaching or instead of it.

Where are you based, and do you work online?

I’m based in Cape Town, South Africa, and all sessions are held online by video call. I work with clients across South Africa and internationally, and we find session times that work across time zones.

How do I get started?

Book a First Conversation. You can take the Snapshot first if you’d like to: it’s a short guided reflection that gives us extra insight to explore together. If you’d rather not, we can go straight into the First Conversation.

What is the First Conversation?

It’s a complimentary 30-minute conversation about where you are, what you want to achieve, and whether we’re the right fit as coach and client. Afterwards, I’ll suggest the support that would help most: either a programme or the length of time it would take to reach your goals. It’s a genuine conversation, not a sales pitch. If coaching isn’t the right fit, I’ll tell you.

How long is a coaching engagement?

There are two routes. Some people need a single focused 90-minute conversation to think something through or make a decision. Others need a programme, which runs from one month for a specific challenge to six or twelve months for deeper change in how they lead and live. Which one fits depends on what you want to achieve, and we decide together.

What happens between sessions?

You’ll have exercises, notes and actions to work on before the next session, because most of the change happens between conversations. You can also reach me by email or WhatsApp, within reason and within the times we agree, taking time zones into account.

How do you measure progress?

At the start, we agree the key areas you want to change and score each one out of 10. We re-score at the end of your programme, with a midpoint check on longer programmes, so you can see what has shifted. About a month after your final session, a maintenance session checks that the change is holding.

Are sessions confidential?

Yes. What we discuss stays between us. If your employer is funding your coaching, we agree upfront, together, what they’ll see. That’s usually the overall goals and confirmation that sessions are taking place, never the content of our conversations. I use AI tools to help with note-taking, so I can focus fully on our conversation and keep track of your progress between sessions.

How much does coaching cost?

Investment depends on the depth and length of support. Once we’ve agreed what would genuinely help, I’ll recommend one option with clear pricing and no hidden costs. I have separate pricing for South African clients (in rand) and international clients (in US dollars).

Can my employer pay for coaching?

Yes. Many clients have their coaching funded by their organisation, and I can invoice your company directly.

Who do you work with?

Mostly senior women leaders and founders who are successful on paper but sense that the way they’re working isn’t sustainable. They’re capable and ambitious, and they want to redefine success without giving up their ambition.

What if I need to reschedule a session?

Please give at least 3 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice than that are forfeited.

Ready to talk it through?
