"If you do not make time for your wellness, you will be forced to make time for your illness."
This is resonating more and more.
Work and life can get crazy and overwhelming sometimes. With looming deadlines and pressure from all sides, it can be easy to let the health things slide. Skipping 'just one' gym session, ordering 'just one' takeout meal, accepting 'just one' late meeting.
Of course there are exceptions. It's when the 'just one' turns into two or three that the problem really starts.
Making the health journey fun helps. Adding in community and accountability partners help even more. I went back to dance classes after almost 30 years and I'm loving it. If you're lucky, you'll also have a (super happy and motivating) high school friend that keeps you honest when it comes to your gym sessions.
Make the time. Your brain, body and overall performance will thank you. The work will still be there, you'll just be better equipped to deal with it.
